ORIGINAL POETRY: FREEDOM AND RESPONSIBILITY by: Enjoli Rountree - Written October 8, 2023 Each new day As I move in this new way Shedding lazy, lethargic layers of yesterday before I put the beer away Experiencing the present like never before Breathing into the state understanding and enJOYing so much more - Witnessing memories of the dis-stress I put myself through prior to embarking on this adventure to... freedom and responsibility - After all it is response-ability not react-ability Listening in silence, breathing in the moment opening the present Or jumping to a conclusion, seeking to place blame or find an excuse. I'll take the breath work. I can't believe I used to function that way! But it's okay. No badness, those experiences led me here today. And I am grateful! - Now I understand that it was the Ego that created the perception and or judgement that determined my experience. Right or wrong. Good or bad. Without that perception, it is only an experience that I can now embrace with the right mind and with the eyes and ears of the holy spirit - Daily, I undo knots of resistance Clearing out challenges I created, some with persistence... Self sabotage - In the undoing, I am free,r creating greater ease and flow in my experience - Less and less, my mind wanders about looking for something wrong. Now, when I witness this I smile, take a deep breath, and remind myself that all is well in fact very well! - It is not the responsibility of anyone else to make me happy or to appease me. Besides, I've discovered I have a wholly comedy crew in my head with a live band and a horn section! I can certainly generate my own happiness and thoroughly appease myself 🤣 - It IS my responsibility not to allow the energy of others to defuse my joy. Not my monkeys. Mine are all accounted for... At least most of them are! 🤣 - In those moments when the ego's perception slides in... I take a deep breath, become still, and know that I am God. Relax...
